Although green tea alone does not taste like a dessert, combined with other ingredients it allows us to enjoy a delicious and healthy option. Of course, it is important that you moderate with the portions so that you can enjoy it without regrets.

Ingredients

  • Lemon zest (3 g)
  • 1 cup of water (200 ml)
  • Juice of 1 lemon (45 ml)
  • 4 unflavored gelatin sheets
  • 1 jar of light cheese to spread (200 g)
  • 1 cup of green tea, already prepared, (200 ml)
  • 2 eggs -separate the yolks from the whites-

Preparation

  • To start, mix the tea with the jelly leaves previously hydrated in cold water.
  • Next, add the 200 ml of water, the lemon zest and the juice.
  • Then, beat 2 egg yolks and add this little by little to the previous mixture. Mix vigorously.
  • Next, add the cheese spread and your favorite sweetener. Mix well.
  • Whip the whites until stiff and incorporate them into the mixture in an enveloping way.
  • Pour the mixture into a container and place in the freezer until it begins to harden.
  • Take it out of the freezer and stir it well so it doesn’t crystallize. Put it back in the freezer.
  • Repeat the previous two steps until you get the desired consistency, which should be creamy.

2. Coconut flan

We cannot miss the coconut flan in low calorie homemade desserts. This nutritious flan can accompany any food, at any time of year.  Coconut stands out for its high content of healthy fats, antioxidants, and proteins.

Ingredients

  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 whole coconut (2.5 kg)
  • Zest of 1/2 lemon (1.5 g)
  • 1 cup of skim milk (200 ml)
  • 3 tablespoons of cornstarch (15 g)
  • 1/2 tablespoon of coconut rum (2.5 ml)
  • Low-fat coconut milk (100 ml)
  • 1/2 cup of skimmed condensed milk (100 ml)

Preparation

  • First, open the coconut and save half a cup of its water.
  • Next, mix the water with the skim milk.
  • Next, in a pot, place the cornstarch along with the previous mixture.
  • Beat until smooth and creamy.
  • In another bowl, whisk the coconut milk with the lemon zest, condensed milk and a pinch of salt. Add this preparation to the previous mixture.
  • Bring this mixture to a boil, whisking constantly until you get a thick mixture.
  • Remove the pot from the heat and add the coconut rum, stirring constantly.
  • Prepare your individual molds by smearing them with butter and pouring the preparation into them.
  • Let them cool to room temperature and then chill them in the fridge until well set.
  • Finally, remove from the mold on a plate and decorate it to taste.

3. Fruit skewer, the best low calorie homemade dessert

One of the low calorie homemade desserts that you will like to prepare the most are these delicious fruit skewers. They are easy to make and contain important nutrients like vitamin C. 

Ingredients

  • 1 kiwi (10 g)
  • 1 pear (30 g)
  • 4 strawberries (10 g)
  • 1 banana or plantain (120 g)
  • Mint leaves to decorate.

Preparation

  • First, wash the strawberries well and remove the peduncle. Dry them with kitchen paper.
  • Peel the rest of the fruits.
  • Next, cut the fruits, except for the strawberries, into small pieces and thread them onto the wooden skewers.
  • Then, lightly roll the skewers onto a hot griddle and serve immediately.
  • Garnish with mint or spearmint leaves.
  • If you like, you can add a skimmed yogurt dip to the skewers.

4. Tofu flan

Tofu flan is one of the low-calorie desserts that those who are trying to lose weight can consume. Although it should be taken in small portions, its ingredients provide protein, healthy fats, vitamins and minerals. 

Ingredients

  • Tofu (120 g)
  • 4 eggs (240 g)
  • 2 large strawberries (5 g)
  • Cinnamon powder (5 g).
  • Vanilla extract (5 ml).
  • Sweetener (5 g).
  • 1 cup of soy milk (250 ml).
  • 1 cup of skim milk (250 ml).

Preparation

  • First, beat the eggs, skim milk, soy milk, tofu and sweetener in the mixer until you get a smooth and homogeneous cream.
  • Next, add the vanilla extract and cinnamon.
  • Next, pour into the molds of your choice, cook it in a double boiler and let it rest for 10 minutes.
  • Remove from the molds and, being cold, put them in the fridge.
  • When serving, accompany them with the split strawberries.
