Aspects to take into account of facial self-massage

The following article published by the Journal of Korean Academy of Nursing  would admit that facial massages, applied properly, would help combat problems such as facial paralysis; as they stimulate circulation and tone the skin. However, you should first consult a doctor since he is the only one who can advise the most appropriate treatments.

In addition, as is usually done with moisturizers or anti-wrinkle creams, it is essential to be constant also in this facial self-massage that we are going to present below. It can be done three times a week when you get home, it lasts ten minutes and it is really simple.

Now, we will continue with the eyebrow and eye area.

To do this, put your index fingers or thumb above the eyebrows to pull them (as you see in the image); using little force, but holding it that way for about ten seconds. This would serve to try to combat the sagging of the eyelids, since with this exercise they try to strengthen the muscles in this area. Repeat 10 times.

In the eyelid area you will do a much gentler massage. This exercise consists of gently squeezing them for about 5 seconds, massaging them with both fingers. Repeat this, too, 10 times.

Third step: Brow and forehead

What you will do, first of all, is place your index finger between the eyebrows (that is, in that area that is between the two eyebrows and above the nose), giving yourself a circular massage. With this gesture, the muscle will move and exercise, as described in the book Perfect Shape by Caterina Germani.

Now, you will focus on the temples. As in the frown, the index fingers are placed and a circular massage is made on each side of the temples for at least three minutes.

Some people believe that all these movements would reactivate blood circulation in this area and help prevent the appearance of wrinkles. However, there is no scientific evidence to corroborate the latter.

When you’re done, apply your regular moisturizer. However, it must be borne in mind that it is not a miracle remedy, so it will have to be supplemented with a good diet and a healthy lifestyle to make the skin and face look more rested. And you, do you dare to try it?
